Marketing Materials
I design marketing materials for creative small businesses.

What are Marketing Materials?
Marketing materials are what you use to promote your business.
Classic marketing materials might seem a little old-fashioned – physical business cards and direct mail don’t always fit a modern, creative business model. But marketing materials can also include the emails you send, the Instagram posts you make, the packaging you sell. Pretty much every professional interaction with your customer base relies on marketing materials.
Why does your creative business
need Marketing Materials?
You’re probably already using marketing materials, whether you realize it or not! If you’re posting to social media, handing out business cards, or sending messages to clients, you’re marketing your business.
But how well that marketing actually works depends on how good those materials are. They’re often the first impression you make on a potential client, and they continue to shape their interactions with your business. Marketing materials can also reinforce a sense of brand ownership, so your customers know that every appointment reminder, every intake form, every ceramic mug or menu or highlight reel comes from you.
Your creative business needs professional marketing materials to help make your interactions with clients seamless and consistent. The difference between a quickly thrown-together Google survey and a polished intake form designed in your branding is customer experience – and how professional and organized you look to customers.
Why should you trust Bart & Pen Co. with your Marketing Materials?
Designing marketing materials isn’t just about looks – it’s also about technical specifications! To create a design that works great on a printed product, for example, you’ve got to know a lot about file formats, DPI, color profiles, bleed and trim marks, and even paper finishes and weights.
When you hire Bart & Pen Co. to design your marketing materials, I’ll sort through all that noise to give you clear options and deliver products that look perfect, whether digital or physical.
Bart & Pen Co. is the marketing expert your creative business needs because . . .
01/
I design completely custom marketing materials.
Using online templates to design your own marketing materials can be both overwhelming and limiting. When you hire me to design printed products or client communications for your business, I’ll come up with totally custom solutions for your unique needs.
A customer survey with a six-way branching decision tree of conditional questions? No problem! A holographic sticker sheet with tattoo aftercare instructions printed on the paper backing? I can make that happen!
I’ll also make sure all your marketing materials are consistent with your business’s established brand – and with each other. If you find most of your clients through social media, you want the vibe of your curated Instagram feed to match the emails you send to confirm appointment times.
02/
I understand the technical specifications of designing for print and digital.
Especially when designing printed products, your files need to be properly configured to translate to the real world. Problems with resolution, color profiles, and bleed can result in a funky finished product. Even emails and online forms have to consider how design elements scale on desktop vs. mobile devices.
Fortunately, I’m a graphic designer by trade and highly proficient with professional design software. There’s a lot that user-friendly programs like Canva can do – but there’s also a lot they can’t do. And that’s where my expertise and access to industry standard software comes in! I’ll help you create marketing materials that are free of technical problems and look great no matter how you or your customers use them.
03/
I’ll handle the ordering, printing, and delivery.
If choosing the best place to print business cards is a hurdle in itself, I can take that off your plate! I have established relationships with professional printers that can do so much more than just the basics, and I’ll help you choose the best materials for the job.
I can order and print your marketing materials and have them sent right to your door, so you’re free to focus on all the other parts of running a creative business.
04/
You can sell the products I design.
There’s no need to stress about copyright issues – any product I design for you, whether a digital download, a sticker, or a t-shirt, is yours to monetize. I handle font licensing and design custom artwork to guarantee you’re in the clear, whatever the end use of your marketing materials.
“I absolutely loved my experience of working with Abby! She designed pamphlets for my business to use as bag stuffers at an upcoming event and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out! Abby was so easy to work with too. From the very start she listened to my ideas and vision and beautifully executed them in a timely manner. Her communication was fast, and I felt supported throughout the whole process having never done something like this before. I’m excited to work with Abby again in the near future for more marketing materials!”

Why do all my prices say “starting at”?
I don’t have a set price for my services because every project is different! When you inquire with me, I’ll create a custom quote and detailed scope of work based on your business’s unique requirements.
The prices listed on my site reflect the cost of a “simple” project in each of these categories. Complexity of design, number of components, and rounds of edits required can all increase the cost of a project.
If you have a specific budget in mind, please let me know! I’ll work with you to make sure you get the most bang for your buck. I’m also happy to offer discounted pricing for multiple services and large projects.
